When iFLY North Carolina came to Wilmington, it brought a one-of-a-kind adventure experience to the region – giving visitors the opportunity to experience the thrill of indoor skydiving in a safe and controlled environment.As part of the facility’s new construction, Highland Roofing Company began work on the roofing system in mid-2024, completing the initial roof installation in early 2025. Working alongside Samet and the other project partners, Highland was proud to contribute to the construction of a facility designed around an innovative and highly specialized operation.

Shortly after construction was completed, Highland was invited back to assist with a unique challenge involving iFLY’s internal fan system. The large-scale fan equipment responsible for creating the indoor skydiving experience required replacement, creating a complex logistical challenge due to the size and location of the equipment within the facility. The most effective way to safely remove and replace the fan system was through the roof. Highland worked closely with the iFLY team and other project partners to carefully open the roofing system, allow the equipment transition to take place, and complete the necessary repairs to restore the roof. The repair work was completed in late 2025, allowing iFLY to continue providing its one-of-a-kind experience to guests.

While Highland regularly supports clients through preventative maintenance, inspections, and ongoing service needs, projects like iFLY highlight the importance of building lasting relationships from the very beginning. From the original construction to supporting a complex repair, Highland was proud to remain a trusted partner throughout the process. That partnership continued beyond the completion of the work. Recently, the iFLY North Carolina team reached out to invite Highland back for a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility and the opportunity to experience indoor skydiving firsthand. The invitation was a meaningful reminder of the relationships built through collaboration and the lasting connections that extend beyond the completion of a project. Experiencing the facility in action gave the Highland team a unique perspective on the impact of the work completed and the incredible experience made possible through the collaboration of so many project partners.
