Highland Roofing Company Completes Roofing Scope at Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center

Highland Roofing Company is proud to announce the successful completion of its roofing scope for the expansion of the Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. The project included approximately 120,000 square feet of roofing across multiple phases and building additions, delivered in collaboration with Rodgers Builders Inc. and a comprehensive team of trade partners over the course of several years.

The Scotts Hill Medical Center project represents a significant investment in expanding healthcare access and infrastructure within the coastal North Carolina region. Throughout construction, Highland Roofing Company worked in close coordination with the general contractor and multiple specialty trades to support a complex, multi-phase build that required detailed scheduling, sequencing, and integration of multiple building envelope systems.

A notable aspect of the project involved coordination with Eastern Exterior Wall Systems (EEWS) and Aluminum Composite Metal (ACM) panel assemblies. These exterior wall systems were fully prefabricated offsite in Pennsylvania, requiring precise alignment between the wall panel contractor and the roofing installation team. To support this system, Highland Roofing Company fabricated custom flashing components in its ESI-certified sheet metal shop, which were then shipped to the panel contractor for integration into the prefabricated wall assemblies. This coordination ensured that when the wall systems were installed on site, they properly interfaced with the roofing system, maintaining continuity of the building envelope and supporting long-term weather protection performance.

The successful completion of this project reflects Highland Roofing Company’s commitment to craftsmanship, coordination, and quality execution on large-scale healthcare facilities. The company is proud to have contributed to a project that will serve patients, healthcare providers, and the broader coastal Carolina community for years to come.
